Hey there. Tim here.

I'm leveling up. It's time to push myself and get out of my comfort zone. This is scary and fun. LFG.

1. My LinkedIn World Domination Plan

For the past 2 weeks, I have been learning everything I can about effective advertising. Last week I wrote about the beginning of my journey. This week, I will share with you my strategy.

Here goes.

LinkedIn Ads Are Not Very Good

I've been putting together a swipe file of different ad campaigns that have impressed me. On Facebook / Twitter, I came across dozens of sophisticated and successful ads. I studied ads from ...

  • Tony Robbins
  • Mel Robbins
  • Dan Henry
  • Russel Brunson

These ads almost certainly generate very high returns for the businesses.

With the clear positive ROI that Facebook ads generate, I was surprised to see the lack of quality and effectiveness for ads on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Is B2B, So Why Aren't There Phenomenal Ads On The Platform?

The ads on LinkedIn suck.

Most of these ads don't even go to landing pages. Some of them were basically television commercials that were loaded onto LinkedIn.

I don't get it. I feel like I am missing something.

Look how bad this ad is.

There's no CTA and no real benefit. I don't get it. All I see is a bunch of logos.

Then when you click on the "download" button, it brings you to a form.

There's no copy. There's hardly even a headline. I'm so confused.

When I look at this, I see a huge opportunity to create ads that have more pop, more conversion, more story, better headlines, and sophisticated funnels on LinkedIn.

What's interesting is that B2B businesses have enterprise value, which means that one conversion off an ad can generate thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars.

Why do LinkedIn ads suck so bad? I see opportunity ahead.

My Plan To Dominate On LinkedIn

I'm going to bring the Facebook / Instagram energy to LinkedIn. Here's the plan.

  • First, I am creating a free course giveaway. The course is going to be very high level. The quality is going to be as such that I could sell it as a $1000 product if I wanted to. The knowledge and information in this course is worth millions. Here is the outline of my course so far.
  • Next, I will finish and publish my landing page. I basically copied the layout from a great landing page I saw from Gym Launch. I am about half way through swapping out the copy to fit my industry, but I think it's coming along great. You can see the page here.
  • Lastly, I am sending a weekly newsletter to my list, that is specific to marketers and business development professionals in the behavioral health space. I can't believe I am committing to another newsletter, but I'm up at 4 AM anyway, so what's another Wednesday newsletter?

Turning Stodzy Into A Media Company

In my mind, I always thought that I had to treat Stodzy differently because it is a B2B business. But the more I am learning, the more I realize that the tactics I teach in The Copyblogger Academy are perfectly relevant for B2B businesses as well.

Soon, I will also add free monthly webinars and free training for professionals in the space. I will create more free courses and create an entire resource library that expands into different behavioral health industries, such as mental health treatment and even autism therapy.

I've never been more excited about what the team is doing. I feel like we have so much to give, and we are just barely touching the surface of what's possible. I feel like a beginner again, and it feels great.

2. Warren Buffet Is Right

I really loved this video. This is something about our version of capitalism that really upsets me.

America created a proxy version of capitalism. We love to reward people when risk pays off, but we don't don't let markets punish people when the risk goes to zero. We should.

4. The Best Financial Advice You'll Ever Hear

Everything I know about personal finance, I learned from Ramit Sethi. Ramit showed me that investing, multiple income streams, and compounding were the true way to wealth. Mostly, he showed me that it's not actually that complicated.

I couldn't have done it without reading his book.

If you're serious about learning how to make your money work for you, I highly recommend listing to this podcast with Stephen Bartlett and Ramit Sethi.

5. The Recession That Never Happened

No one handled the financial crisis of the last few years better than The United States. Red pill anti American trolls will hate that statement, but the data is clear. It's fascinating to see how resilient the U.S. economy is. There are still a few potential pitfalls on the road ahead, but it's looking good.

I hope you all have a great week. As always, feel free to hit reply and let me know what you think or if you have any questions I can answer.

Love you guys.

Talk to you next week.

Tim
