Remember What You Have

Published 9 months ago • 2 min read

Hey there. Tim here.

I've been very sick the last three days. This week's newsletter is a bit short and more direct than usual. Thanks for understanding. We will be back to normal next week.

1. Remember What You Have

This weekend, I was attacked by a demon.

I’ll save you the visuals, but let’s just say I was sick. Real sick. Some bug got into the home and the entire family was knocked out. If it wasn’t so miserable it would have been funny. We will laugh about it when we’re feeling better.

The other night night, as I was in between fever dreams, I had a thought. Something told me …

“Try to remember how bad you feel right now, so you won’t take your health for granted when you’re feeling better.”

One of the most important quotes I’ve ever heard is …

“A healthy man wants everything, a sick man only wants one thing.”

We’ve all been here. Puking in a bucket and thinking that you would do anything to feel better. When you’re sick, your priorities come into focus. You suddenly realize how small all your problems actually are and how much you torture yourself with the feelings of wanting more and trying to elevate status.

If you have your health, you have everything you need.

2. Mind Your Footing

My friend Tricia reposted this on Instagram. I loved the message.

I think about this a lot with my son.

My wrestling coach in high school made a point of never saying the word “don’t.” He actually said “don’t say don’t.” The idea is that if you tell someone what they shouldn’t do, you put the idea of doing it in their head.

Instead, tell them what they should do.

So instead of saying “hey, don’t let him pull your hips in.”

He would say “Tim, sprawl your hips back.”

I am mindful of encouraging my son to do something, instead of not doing something.

It’s a short video. Watch it.

4. Why You SHOULD NOT Start A Newsletter

Newsletters are great businesses, but you probably shouldn’t start one.

In fact, I would argue that for the majority of you, a newsletter would be counter productive to achieving your goals. Most likely, your goal is to get clients and to get contracts signed. If that’s the case, a newsletter is a huge waste of time. There is another, much more effective way to grow your business and earn top dollar.

5. New Factories Are Coming To Us, Even As Current Ones Struggle

The US is undertaking an "onshoring" process, which is another way of saying we are rebuilding the manufacturing base within our own borders.

With more factories being built, you would think the demand for output has increased, but it hasn't.

Why?

This is an interesting article and the surge of US manufacturing is going to play a huge role in the world economy for decades to come. It's worth learning about.

I hope you all have a great week. As always, feel free to hit reply and let me know what you think or if you have any questions I can answer.
