$10M In Revenue

Published 9 months ago • 5 min read

Hey there. Tim here.

I've come to terms with the fact that I am the only one who can make this happen. It's up to me. LFG.

1. My Plan To Hit $10M A Year In Revenue

I've been going through a transformation.

For the last few months, I've been building an outbound sales, advertising, and lead generation system so I can close more deals for Stodzy Internet Marketing.

My agency has scaled to a few million bucks a year. It's a number I never imagined I would get to. I'm humbled and grateful.

But it's time to go next level.

The reality is that if I want to hit my goal of $10M a year in revenue, then I need to get serious about advertising and sales. And if I want to get serious about advertising and sales, that means I need to learn new skills.

This Is Totally New To Me

Two weeks ago, I wrote about my moment of clarity when I realized I needed to change my positioning from being "an SEO company" to being a lead generation company that sells a results oriented process.

That's all well and good, but now I'm at the execution stage. This means learning, testing, experimenting, and worst of all ... burning cash.

I HATE losing money. I hate it. It's the reason why I've gravitated towards content marketing and SEO. I have such certainty that good writing will generate leads and business. It's gotten me to where I am and with this strategy, I never lose money.

With organic content marketing, my success is singularly determined by my patience, commitment to the process, and time. There's very little up front money required.

But, if I want to have something I've never had, I need to do something I've never done.

So, here's the plan.

LinkedIn Ads To My Treatment Leads Course

This course took me forever to create. Creating the course was one thing, but packaging it was another.

I first published the course on Podia, but that was a mistake. Podia requires users to create an account. The process of creating a podia account to see the free course was 5 CLICKS! That's unacceptable.

So I built my own customized course platform.

The ads bring you to the sales page.

  • Then, people signup with just one step. They insert their name, email and phone number.
  • Once they signup, they confirm their email address.
  • Then, they automatically get redirected to this page to see the course.
  • Once all that happens, their contact info automatically imports into my close.com CRM and I am notified.
  • At that point, I call the lead asap.

Outbound Sales

I am organizing every single behavioral healthcare center by state, and then by the 5 biggest cities in each state. Then, I am digging for the contact info for the CEO, CMO, and Director of Operations for every facility.

Then I will conquer each city one by one.

There's nothing fancy here. No tech, no automations, no ads, and no metrics. Just good old fashioned outreach.

My plan is to be more personalized than everyone else. I will give short video audits to every lead I send an email to.

Below is an example of an audit I sent yesterday. (The video is unlisted as I had to upload it to YouTube to show you.)

A Media Company

I've been very inspired by bhbusiness.com. They make me feel a bit stupid because ever since I started Sober Nation, I've had the idea that I should start a media company focused around the business of behavioral health.

I never went forward with it because I didn't think anyone would be interested.

But this company showed me that people are more than interested.

My plan is to use the same model that has worked for TimStodz, Copyblogger, Sober Nation and Stodzy, and apply it to this new media entity.

Free > Front End > Back end. If you want to know more about what that means, you can read this article.

Last But Not Least, Consistency

What makes me anxious about this new strategy is that I will inevitably come across failure. I've never done this before. I've been working on this project for 3 months and I'm hardly any further ahead now than I was 3 months ago.

It feels daunting.

But I've been here before and I know the only option is to keep going.

I need to keep going even when no one returns my emails, I lose money on ads, and I go on dry spells with closing deals.

No matter what happens ... keep going.

4. Why You Should Be A Twitter Thread Boy

video preview

In this video, I'll give you a behind-the-scenes look at how Twitter threads can significantly boost your reach and engagement. You'll see my own experiences and analytics to prove that threads are worth the effort.

With the algorithm changes and decreased impressions on Twitter, it's crucial to leverage the power of retweets and reposts.

Trust me, it's not just about being authentic, but about maximizing the potential of every post.

5. The Same System Every Time

This thread got a decent amount of engagement.

But I realized after I published it that I didn't put enough emphasis on the most important aspect of all. If you look at tweet #4, you will see one word.

TRUST.

All marketing is a journey to build trust. Once you have built the trust, you don't need to market yourself anymore. The holy grail of business isn't high converting ads or millions of social media shares.

It's simply trust.

Earn the trust and you earn the money.

I hope you all have a great week. As always, feel free to hit reply and let me know what you think or if you have any questions I can answer.
